... but if you're searching for the truth about Linux:

We recommend 1. purchasing the October, 2003 and July 2004 issues of Wired magazine, a copy of Eric S. Raymond's The Cathedral and the Bazaar and Ken Brown's book excerpt, Samizdat; and 2. asking Professor A. Tanenbaum and L. Torvalds what use or distribution (direct or indirect, if any) they made of the Lions' notes, Tanenbaum's copyrighted "Minix" program, and other dervivative, scaffolding, "code and ideas," or other from versions of Unix.

(If you are in contact with these gentlemen, you are also welcome to ask: Given that Linux has "always" (per Mr. T., c/o Zdnet) credited Unix with supplying "a lot of ideas" to Linux... 1. what on earth does that mean? and 2. given #1, why is there no derivative-work credit for the first two plus years of Linux kernel attributions? In fact, where are the attributions for the initial Linux kernel? Please report any findings, or feel free to make your own speculations, vie email to webmaster@adti.net.)

As well, AdTI fellows are available to defend and debate the content of their work, in any appropriate venue. For example, we will be happy to argue the affirmative to the proposition: "Resolved, that Steve Ballmer is right about the relationship between Linux and Unix."
